Author Guidelines

 

Submission Language

All manuscripts must be submitted in clear and grammatically correct English. Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and scientific readability of their work. Authors whose first language is not English are strongly encouraged to seek professional language editing or proofreading prior to submission.


Manuscript Types and Length

BioSphere Dynamics accepts the following categories of manuscripts:

  • Research Articles: 5,000–7,000 words (including references, tables, and figures)
  • Review Articles: 4,000–6,000 words
  • Short Communications: 2,000–3,000 words
  • Case Studies / Technical Reports: Up to 6,000 words (may require prior editorial approval)
  • Perspectives / Commentary: 1,500–2,500 words

Formatting Requirements:

  • Paper size: A4
  • Line spacing: Double-spaced
  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides
  • Font: 12 pt serif (e.g., Times New Roman)

Title Page

The title page must be submitted as a separate document and include:

  • Title: Concise, descriptive, and free of abbreviations
  • Author Details: Full names, institutional affiliations, and complete postal addresses
  • Contact Information: Email and telephone number for each author
  • ORCID iD: Mandatory for the corresponding author
  • Corresponding Author: Clearly indicated with full contact details
  • Acknowledgments and Funding: Include funding agencies, grant numbers, and institutional support

Abstract and Keywords

  • Provide a structured abstract (250–300 words) summarizing:
    • Background / Purpose
    • Methodology
    • Key findings
    • Conclusions
  • Do not include citations or abbreviations in the abstract
  • Include 5–8 keywords reflecting the core themes (e.g., biodiversity, climate change, sustainability, ecological modeling)

Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should be organized using clearly numbered headings:

  1. Introduction
  2. Literature Review / Background
  3. Materials and Methods / Methodology
  4. Results / Findings
  5. Discussion
  6. Conclusion and Implications
  7. References

Subsections should follow a logical numbering format (e.g., 2.1, 2.2).


Abbreviations

  • Define all abbreviations at first use (e.g., Climate Change (CC))
  • Use abbreviations consistently throughout the manuscript

Tables and Figures

  • Tables:
    • Number sequentially (Table 1, Table 2, etc.)
    • Provide captions above the table
    • Include explanatory notes below where necessary
  • Figures:
    • Number sequentially (Figure 1, Figure 2, etc.)
    • Provide captions below the figure
    • Submit high-resolution images (minimum 300 dpi) in JPG, PNG, or TIFF format

All tables and figures must be original or accompanied by proper permissions and attribution.


References

Authors may use either:

  • APA (7th edition)
  • Harvard style (preferred for environmental sciences)

Ensure:

  • All in-text citations are included in the reference list
  • All references are accurate and complete
  • Unpublished data should not appear in references (may be cited as personal communication)

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Declaration Policy

BioSphere Dynamics recognizes the growing role of artificial intelligence in research and academic writing. To maintain transparency, reproducibility, and ethical standards, authors must disclose any AI usage.


AI Usage Guidelines

Permitted Uses

  • Language editing and grammar correction
  • Translation of scientific material
  • Formatting and reference checking
  • Literature organization and research assistance

Prohibited Uses

  • Generating core scientific content, analysis, or conclusions
  • Creating or fabricating data, figures, or results
  • Writing substantial sections without human validation
  • Listing AI tools as authors

Mandatory Disclosure Requirements

Authors must include an “AI Declaration Statement” specifying:

  • Tool(s) Used: Name and version (e.g., ChatGPT, Grammarly AI)
  • Purpose: Specific usage (e.g., language refinement)
  • Extent: Degree of AI involvement
  • Human Oversight: Description of review and verification

Example:
“The authors used AI tools for language editing. All content was reviewed, verified, and approved by the authors.”


Author Responsibilities

  • Authors are fully responsible for accuracy, originality, and integrity
  • All data, results, and citations must be independently verified
  • Ethical standards must be upheld regardless of AI assistance
  • Failure to disclose AI usage may lead to rejection or retraction

Editorial Review

All submissions, including those with declared AI usage, undergo rigorous double-blind peer review. Reviewers are informed of AI involvement to ensure fair evaluation of originality and scientific contribution.
